The Chehalis Fisheries Restoration Program (CFRP) makes funding and technical assistance available for on-the-ground restoration of salmon habitat, watershed assessments, and outreach and education in the Chehalis River Basin. The CFRP’s goal is to recover Chehalis Basin fisheries by forming partnerships with private landowners, non-profit organizations, and local, tribal, and state agencies. The projects can include education and outreach, research, inventory, assessment and prioritization, barrier removal, floodplain restoration, and any stage of habitat restoration. All projects should focus on restoration of the fishery resources of the Chehalis River Basin.

For the 2026 grant round, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service anticipates funding to be available for approximately 3 projects, each project not exceeding $48,000. Potential projects will be reviewed, prioritized and funding decisions will be made at the end of October 2026. If awarded, project sponsors should expect to have money allocations no earlier than Winter 2026.
